The Jacksonville Jaguars will have a few interesting choices on Day 2.

3) No safeties were drafted in the first round

For the second consecutive draft, no safeties were taken in the first round. In 2020, Xavier McKinney was the first safety chosen at 36, and one pick later, the New England Patriots took Kyle Dugger. There was only one safety prospect with a first-round grade in this draft, Trevon Moehrig, and he will be available when the Jaguars are on the clock with the first pick of the second round, the 33rd overall.

Will Moehrig will be the first safety off the board? If the Jaguars want to address the position, they will have their fair share of choices. Besides the TCU product, the UCF’s Richie Grant and Oregon’s Jevon Holland will be available.

4) Alabama defensive tackle Christian Barmore is still available

Just like safety, the defensive tackle position isn’t deep this year. Other than Christian Barmore, no other prospect had a first-round grade, and there was always a chance he would be available in the second round.

After spending their two first-round picks on offense, the Jaguars will face an interesting decision with the 33rd overall pick. Will this Jacksonville team upgrade their safety room or will they target Barmore? Either choice seems solid, and both Barmore and Moehrig will likely be gone when they chose again at 45. The Jags could also address another position or even add more offensive weapons. Whatever their pick is, they need to come out of the second round with another playmaker.
