DT Christian Barmore

The interior defensive line class is quite thin this year so it makes sense that teams didn’t feel so inclined to jump on the position in the first round.

Christian Barmore and Levi Onwuzurike have been the two most commonly discussed defensive tackles who could have been selected in the first round.

In the week leading up to the draft, there were some reports surrounding Barmore in terms of character concerns. Alabama head coach Nick Saban has come out and said that in no way is Barmore hard to coach. Whether these reports are true or not, his draft stock did take a bit of a hit.

Barmore is an explosive defensive tackle who is very athletic for his size. He plays with good pad level and gains good leverage against assignments.

The Jaguars have opted for quantity over quality when it comes to addressing the offensive line and they aren’t done yet. Barmore would be a solid addition to their defensive line and would bring much-needed power to their run support.

EDGE Azeez Ojulari

Azeez Ojulari is a tremendous athlete who should very well have been drafted in the first round. He’s likely being overlooked because of his size but Ojulari’s range of play easily makes up for that.

He’s lengthy, has great burst and bend, and is explosive out of his stance. Ojulari just needs to improve his hand usage and add on a little weight but he’s going to make an exceptional edge rusher in the NFL.

Through 23 games in college, Ojulari had 39 tackles,18.5 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks.

While Jacksonville already has a few decent pass rushers on the team, Ojulari would be an incredibly valuable addition for the team and their new multiple defensive scheme.
