Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 NFL Draft – Picks 11 to 19.
At pick 11, the New York Giants pick Miami defensive end Gregory Rousseau. Meanwhile, the Eagles traded down, got a couple of extra picks, and still get a top-skill player, Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Philly passed on Justin Fields too?! This could be a long day for the former Buckeyes quarterback.
The 13th pick belongs to the Las Vegas Chargers, and they use it on Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II. That’s three straight picks from the National Champion Crimson Tide, and five of the first thirteen. Is it any wonder that Alabama keeps beating up on the other college teams? They always seem to have an NFL-caliber lineup!
Minnesota has the 14th overall pick. They need some defense. How about Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley? The Detroit Lions are still trying to add up all the draft picks they got from the Patriots. Their new quarterback, Jared Goff, needs someone to throw the ball to, so the Lions use the 15th pick on Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
We’re at pick16. WE HAVE A TRADE!! The Chicago Bears move up four spots and selects Justin Fields. The Ohio State product can now quit sweating, but can the Bears’ fans??
We’re through the first half of round one.
With the 17th pick, the Las Vegas Raiders select Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. They use a first-round pick on a defensive player?? Is the desert heat affecting their thinking? Did they spend too much time at the craps table last night? Time can only tell.
The Dolphins are back on the clock with their second pick in the first round, the 18th overall. They got a player for the offense, now it’s time to get some protection. Miami selects Christian Darrisaw of Virginia Tech.
At pick 19, The Washington Football Team select Texas offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi.
