2. The Jacksonville Jaguars will draft Pat Freiermuth in the first round.

That’s right, the Jaguars revamped most position groups this offseason with the exception of their tight end room even though head coach Urban Mayer said the team needs to upgrade the unit. They brought back James O’Shaugnessy and signed Chris Manhertz but the former is better suited for a backup role and the latter will be featured in red-zone and short-yardage situations.

Jacksonville still needs to add a tight end in the draft and Pat Freiermuth may be the best one available. Kyle Pitts is the top tight end in the draft, but the Jags won’t have a realistic shot to take him, so they will probably target the second-best.

Now, Freiermuth is no slouch but he could still be available at the end of the first round. The Jaguars could easily trade back to land the Penn State standout and use their two second-round selections to address other position groups such as the offensive line or the secondary.

The Jags will have a starting quarterback in Trevor Lawrence and their wide receiver corps looks in great shape after signing Marvin Jones Jr. this offseason. Their running back room and the offensive line also look in good shape ahead of the draft, they are only missing a playmaker at tight end, that’s why drafting Freiermuth makes sense.
