The 2021 NFL Draft is less than a week away and the Jacksonville Jaguars, just like every other NFL team, have prepared for this moment for months. While there wasn’t scouting combine this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jags’ scouting department has held virtual meetings with prospects, attended Pro Days, and churn hours of tape. All in preparation for arguably the most important draft in team history.

The Jaguars haven’t been very good in a while and their lowest point likely came last year when they lost 15 consecutive games. The organization knew they needed to make major changes this offseason and that’s precisely what they did, hiring Urban Meyer as the head coach, appointing Trent Baalke as their general manager, and adding depth in free agency.

However, if this Jacksonville team wants to make a significant leap and become relevant, they will have to nail this draft. After all, most of the offseason moves the team has made look promising but if they want to have long-term success, they need to acquire franchise building blocks in 2021’s player selection meeting.

On the bright side, the Jaguars hold the first overall selection in the draft and will have the right to take Trevor Lawrence, the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck in 2012 and the most talented signal-caller in the class.

On the other hand, it’s uncertain how Jacksonville will use the rest of their picks. The draft often takes unexpected turns and teams have to adjust on the fly. Regardless of the path the Jags take, here are four bold predictions.
