Round 1 (continued): Picks 25-32

No. 25 – Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU

Jacksonville was active early in free agency and addressed their most pressing needs by signing several veterans. They need a pass-catching tight end but this spot is probably a little high and they have two picks early in round two, which is where they should get their tight end. The Jaguars fill another need with this pick by landing the top safety in this year’s draft.

No. 26 – Cleveland Browns: Joseph Ossai, DE, Texas

The Browns need help at cornerback also, but defensive end makes sense here, so Joseph Ossai gets the nod.

No. 27 – Baltimore Ravens: Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

The Ravens add another weapon to their potent offense.

No. 28 – New Orleans Saints: Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa

The Saints have a bigger need at cornerback, but with the run on the position earlier in this round, they’ll look to round two to fill that need. Adding Zaven Collins at linebacker is the smart move here.

No. 29 – Green Bay Packers: Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue

The Packers went heavy defense in last year’s draft. This year they get Aaron Rodgers another offensive weapon.

No. 30 – Buffalo Bills: Jaelan Phillips, DE, Miami

The Bills have a couple of positions on both sides of the ball they need to address. Getting an EDGE rusher here is good value for a good player.

No. 31 –  Kansas City Chiefs: Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan

The Chiefs had losses on their offensive line and Mayfield should fit in very well.

No. 32 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama

The Buccaneers return all twenty-two starters from their Super Bowl-winning team, so they have the luxury of selecting whoever they want and get the top defensive tackle in this year’s draft.

That concludes the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jaguars pick first in the second round.
