Ohio State recently held its Pro Day and Jacksonville Jaguars Urban Meyer took advantage of the opportunity to visit the place where he won a National Championship in 2014. Of course, he didn’t just go there to reflect on his time there, he was in attendance to take a look at prospects the Jags could potentially target in the 2021 NFL Draft.

While quarterback Justin Fields garnered the most attention, this Jacksonville team will most likely take Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick, so Meyer turned his attention to other players such as linebacker Baron Browning, defensive tackle Tommi Togiai, and offensive guard Wyatt Davis. All of them could be Day 2 picks and all of them should be on the Jaguars’ radar.

Browning ran a verified 4.51 40-yard dash, via Bill Landis of The Athletic, and posted a 40-inch vertical jump and a broad jump of 10 feet, 10 inches. In 2020, he appeared in seven games and amassed 29 total tackles, three tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, and one sack. Although he needs to do a better job of recognizing players, he has the physical tools to thrive in the NFL.

Then, there’s Togiai, who registered 40 reps on the bench press and ran 40-dash times of 5.05 and 4.97 seconds. Furthermore, he ran the 3-cone drill in 7.20 seconds and had a 32-inch vertical jump. Last year, Jacksonville took DaVon Hamilton in the third round, could they take Ohio State defensive tackles in back-to-back drafts?

The Jaguars already got a pair of starting guards in A.J. Cann and Andrew Norwell. Furthermore, they re-signed Tyler Shatley this offseason, but they could add Davis in the third round to keep replenishing their offensive line. The California native opted to skip most drills but put up 24 reps on the bench press, per Reese’s Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy.

The Jacksonville Jaguars could use this trio of Ohio State players.

While it’s unlikely the Jags will take these three Ohio State prospects, all of them could become have an impact down the road. Browning would round out a linebacker corps that already has Myles Jack and Joe Schobert while Togiai could be part of the team’s defensive line rotation. On the offensive side of the ball, Davis would add depth at worst and develop into a starter at best.

The Jaguars will have one pick in the third round and two in the fourth round and if any of these Ohio State prospects are available when they’re on the clock, they should discuss taking them.
