The Jacksonville Jaguars have taken a vast number of steps to revamp their roster this offseason. Besides re-signing a few players and placing the franchise tag on left tackle Cam Robinson, they also took advantage of their cap space, adding depth to the roster and signing some difference-makers in free agency. However, they need to keep adding playmakers and Miami should be a good source of talent in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Although the Jags had a few playmakers last season, they also had plenty of holes on both offense and defense. The offense became stagnant at times and failed to put enough points on the scoreboard. On the other side of the ball, the defense frequently got run over and couldn’t stop opposing teams from scoring at ease.

Fortifying the defensive line should prevent that from happening as often next season, and so do the additions of cornerback Shaquill Griffin and safety Rayshawn Jenkins to the secondary. However, the work isn’t done. Miami recently held its Pro Day and a few draft hopefuls took advantage of the opportunity to make a case to NFL scouts and some of them should definitely be on Jacksonville’s radar.

The Jaguars have drafted three prospects from Miami in team history. Even though linebacker Shaquille Quarterman and wide receiver Marquez Williams didn’t have the impact the Jacksonville expected, center Brandon Linder has been a staple of their offensive line since they used a third-round pick in 2014 to take him. The Jags would certainly like these three Hurricanes to have the same kind of impact.
