The Jaguars fill in-between areas of need

The Jaguar’s wide receiver room is fairly set but Dazz Newsome is too special of a player to miss out on. Newsome not only can contribute in the passing game but is gifted as a return specialist as well. Newsome has good size, solid route-running skills, and great hands. he’s not exactly starting-caliber yet but would add versatility to the Jaguar’s offense. He would also be a nice pair with new addition Jamal Agnew to return kicks.

Running back Carlos Hyde makes his return to Jacksonville three years after his short first-stint with the team. He adds much-needed veteran depth to the backfield in Jacksonville and will be a contributor and mentor for young breakout star James Robinson. Khalil Herbert out of Virginia Tech is an underrated running back in this draft. He’s so athletic and versatile and could fulfill multiple roles for the Jaguars offense and serve as an incredible depth player behind Robinson and Hyde.

Tarron Jackson is another player I will pound my fist on the table for. He is an incredibly sound edge rusher who is quite overlooked considering he attend a smaller scale school like Coastal Carolina. He’s physical, relentless, has great strength and production, and has good character and leadership skills. he very well could be a priority free agent for most teams but if the Jaguars still see him on the board towards the end of the draft, they have to select him.

Jaguars post-free agency mock draft final analysis

This draft just feels like it is going to be defensive-heavy for the Jaguars. As they say, “Defense wins championships” which is something we all saw in the Super Bowl when the Kansas City Chiefs just couldn’t stop the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass rush. Realistically, the Jaguars may sprinkle a few more offensive lineman into their draft and even may make a few trades but this post-free agency mock draft sets them up for a solid 2021 season.
