The Jacksonville Jaguars struggled to put points on the scoreboard in 2020 and if they want to change that, they need to give their offense a facelift. They won’t need to start from scratch though, as they have a few young weapons in running back James Robinson and wide receivers DJ Chark Jr. and Laviska Shenault Jr.

On the other hand, the Jaguars need an upgrade at quarterback, tight end, and left tackle. They will most likely use the first overall pick in 2021’s draft to take Trevor Lawrence, so that leaves tight end and left tackle as their biggest question marks this offseason.

The Jags will have some flexibility when it comes to fixing the left tackle position and there are different routes they can take. They won’t have as many options at tight end, but they should be able to give the position a boost this offseason. They could target a young free agent such as Jonnu Smith or Hunter Henry or target someone like Pat Freiermuth in the selection meeting.

What the Jaguars can’t do is bringing a veteran tight end that whose best days are behind him and expect him to be a difference-maker. They gave Tyler Eifert a two-year contract last season thinking he could be a steady contributor on offense but ended up having no meaningful impact instead. If the team’s brass wants to avoid making the same mistake, they need to avoid signing these three free agents.
