2021 NFL Draft, picks 13 to 19

Round 1, pick 13 – The Los Angeles Chargers: OT Alijah Vera-Tucker, USC

Like the Cincinnati Bengals, the Los Angeles Chargers got their franchise quarterback, Justin Herbert, in last year’s draft. And, just like the Bengals, they get a tackle who can protect him.

Round 1, pick 14 – Minnesota Vikings: DT Christian Barmore, Alabama

This isn’t a deep draft at defensive tackle, but Christian Barmore is the best of the bunch and will eat up space in the middle.

Round 1, pick 15 – New England Patriots: TE Kyle Pitts, Florida

The New England Patriots have bigger needs in the draft, but there is only one tight end worthy of the first round and New England gets him.

Round 1, pick 16– Arizona Cardinals: DE Gregory Rousseau Miami

After signing J.J. Watt in free agency, the Arizona Cardinals may go with a cornerback here. Otherwise, the first defensive end off the board goes to the Cardinals.

Round 1, pick 17 – Las Vegas Raiders: DE Kwity Paye, Michigan

The Las Vegas Raiders need to improve their defensive line, and they start at defensive end with Kwity Paye.

Round 1, pick 18 – Miami Dolphins: LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame

The Dolphins got one of the draft’s top wide receivers at number three overall, and now they get one of the best linebackers at 18 overall.

Round 1, pick 19 – Washington Football Team: OT Christian Darrisaw, Virginia Tech

Is Taylor Heinicke the Washington Football Team’s new quarterback? Who knows, but whoever ends up under center will need better protection, and Christian Darrisaw can provide that.
