1. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ national profile would increase greatly.

The Jaguars don’t get as much attention as other NFL teams do and there are a few reasons why. First, the first one is that they play in a small market. In 2020, Jacksonville was the 41st largest market in the US, one place above Norfolk and one below Austin.

However, that reason doesn’t hold water when you take into account that Green Bay ranks 67th and Buffalo is 52nd, so NFL teams can indeed thrive in a small market. What can the Jaguars do to garner national attention? Win on a consistent basis, and once they do, they will get the spotlight. They haven’t won many games in franchise history and have qualified for the playoffs just once in the last ten years. Don’t forget either that they’ve already accumulated 100 losses under owner Shahid Khan.

Once they start winning, the national coverage will come. In the meantime, they are a young team filled with interesting plotlines. Will head coach Urban Meyer make a successful transition from the college ranks to the NFL? What about Trevor Lawrence, will he live up to expectations surrounding him ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft? Also, the hire of Amy Palcic and her influence in the organization would be worth watching every episode.

The Jaguars are relevant for the first time in a long time and shouldn’t waste the opportunity to get shine under the spotlight of Hard Knocks.
