This is an opportunity the Jacksonville Jaguars can’t waste.

Do you remember not wanting to wash the dishes or going to Summer school as a youngling? You didn’t have to have to always do it but when you did, you weren’t overly enthusiastic. Well, that seems to be the feeling surrounding HBO’s Hard Knocks. Pretty much every NFL team always looks for a way out when asked if they want to be featured on the award-winning show and this year is no different. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars should volunteer this year even though they aren’t required to appear.

Teams can avoid mandatory participation on Hard Knocks if they have a first-year head coach, have been to the playoffs in the last two seasons, and/or have host Hard Knocks in the last ten years. Clubs need to meet just one to appear in the show, the Jaguars satisfy all three and should volunteer to be the subject of the series.

If the league needs to force one team to participate, they could choose between the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants, the Carolina Panthers, the Arizona Cardinals, the Denver Broncos. However, the Jags should get the nod over any of these five teams, and here’s why.
