Defensive tackle. New York Giants. Dalvin Tomlinson. 1. player. 31.

The Jacksonville Jaguars could also fortify their defensive line.

The Jaguars should definitely use a few draft picks in this year’s selection meeting to take a couple of pass rushers. They could target defensive end Carlos Basham Jr. late in the first round or early in the second and Cameron Sample later in the process.

On the other hand, this Jacksonville needs to beef up their front four and add a defensive tackle in free agency. Dalvin Tomilson will be one of the best ones to hit the open market. PFF believes the ‘Jags’ will sign the Alabama product to a four-year $52.5 million contract. The advance statistics site adds that Tomilson excelled in both run support and as a pass rusher last season.

The former second-round pick has started every possible game in his four-year career with the New York Giants. In 2020, he amassed 49 total tackles (eight for a loss), four batted passes and 3.5 sacks. He also earned a 75.1 PFF grade.

If the Jaguars don’t want to break the bank on a defensive tackle in free agency, they could target Lawerence Guy or even Kawann Short, who was recently released. However, Tomlinson will arguably be the best one in the open market and his presence would immediately give Jacksonville’s defensive line a boost.
