Leonard Williams can fortify the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive line.

The Giants need to decide what they will do with their defensive line, as both Leonard Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson are scheduled to hit the open market. In 2020, the duo combined for 15 sack, 106 total tackles (22 for a loss), and five passes defensed.

The ‘G-Men’ are going to have a hard time re-signing them and may have to choose one and let the other one walk in free agency. They already applying the franchise tag on Williams last season and using the tag again may be cost-prohibitive. The sixth-overall pick in 2015’s draft, the USC product registered a career-high 11.5 sacks in 2020, but his value goes beyond that.

Even though Williams does a good job of generating pressure at the line of scrimmage, he can stuff the run. He had 62 total pressures last season and earned a 78.9 Pro Football Focus overall grade in 2020.

The Jaguars’ front four got easily pushed around last season and need to add reinforcement in the offseason if they want to turn things around. Williams will be one of the top free agents this offseason and although he may command retail compensation, he could help Jacksonville fix its defensive line woes.
