Before the 2020 season started, there were telling signs the Jacksonville Jaguars weren’t going to be very good. Trading cornerback A.J. Bouye, safety Ronnie Harrison and defensive ends Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue left their defense devoid of talent. Another red flag was their lack of free-agent additions in the offseason. Other than linebacker Joe Schobert, the team refrained from making any impact signings.

The problem with that approach was that it didn’t feel like a rebuild. Instead, it looked like a car was being stripped of all its good parts. After the talent purge, expectations very high in 2020, but few projected the Jaguars to go 1-15 and rank near the cellar of every meaning offensive and defensive category.

Nevertheless, there were a few times throughout the year where Jacksonville played at a high level and had a few teams on the ropes. One of those squads was the Green Bay Packers, who had a hard time taking down a Jacksonville that allowed a season-low 24 points in Week 10.

The Jaguars defense forced two turnovers and held the Packers’ high-powered offense in check. Looking back, that might’ve been one of their best defensive performances in 2020 and although Jacksonville ended up losing, it was encouraging to see them put up a fight. Moving forward, they will have to give their roster a makeover if they want to start winning games and not just make them interesting, and these three Green Bay free agents could help them turn things around.
