3 Florida Gators Jacksonville Jaguars should target in the NFL Draft
Could the Jacksonville Jaguars land Kadarius Toney in the first round?
Wide receiver may be a position the Jaguars may not need to prioritize in 2021’s draft. DJ Chark Jr. played well last season in spite of the team’s instability at the quarterback position and Laviska Shenault Jr. displayed flashes of talent in his rookie campaign. However, Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney will give them something to think about early in the selection meeting.
The Alabama native was invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl and made the most of it. During practices, he frequently showed the ability to create separation and was named top wide on the American team by the secondary group and made a case to be drafted late in the first round.
In 11 games last season, Toney racked up 70 receptions for 984 yards and ten touchdowns. He also carried the ball 19 times for 161 yards. Moreover, his explosiveness in open spaces has earned him comparisons with former All-Pro returner Dante Hall. The Jaguars could fortify their defense or add a left tackle with the 25th overall pick. However, Toney is becoming a favorite to land in Jacksonville.
