The Jacksonville Jaguars are finalizing the process of assembling their coaching staff after hiring Urban Mayer, and they will soon be able to shift their attention to acquiring playmakers this offseason. The team brass’ has likely started their evaluations and potentials team fits, but the new coaching staff will be able to weigh in on the kind of players they want in their units.

As important as the draft will be for the ‘Jags’, they will need to do a good job of signing the right type of free agents. They are projected to have $73 million in cap space and should be able to go after whomever they want.

Since most position groups are in need of upgrades, Jacksonville will be able to take many paths in free agency due to the cap flexibility they will have this offseason. They could bolster a position group such as their linebacker corps or infuse their defensive line with talent.

The Carolina Panthers have 19 pending free agents and currently have $7.13 million in cap space. Although they may be able to retain some of their players a few of them will hit the open market. The Jaguars should keep an eye on these three.
