The Jacksonville Jaguars need to give their defense a makeover.

It didn’t take long for Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer to start assembling his coaching staff. While there’s nothing concrete, it seems like the ‘Jags’ are targeting former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris to become their defensive coordinator.

Meyer had originally reached out to Morris to gauge his interest in the defensive coordinator position and is now scheduled to travel to Jacksonville Tuesday night to have dinner with Meyer and then do an interview Wednesday, per former ESPN insider Josina Anderson.

Based on how things are unfolding, it seems like the Jaguars defensive coordinator job will go to either Morris or Joe Cullen, who is thought to be a top candidate for the gig. Both coaches have a solid resume and Meyer is doing the right thing to make sure he gets the best available man to oversee the Jaguars’ defense.

Cullen has done a superb job coaching the Baltimore Ravens defensive line for the last five years and could certainly be an asset. On the other hand, Morris might be better suited to run the Jaguars’ defense based on his track record.
