There’s a reason why the Jacksonville Jaguars weren’t very good.

The 2020 season wasn’t too kind to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They were able to only muster one win and dropped 15th consecutive games. Although they were competitive at times, losing five contests by four points or less, they lost ten by 10 points or more. Moreover, they gave up 492 points, almost 200 more than the ones they scored (306).

This doesn’t happen by accident. Injuries played a factor, but that’s an inherent part of the sport and good teams prepare for them. The ‘Jags’ lack of playmakers was also noticeable. Even the best coaching can’t overcome a dearth of talent. Regardless of the reason, head coach Doug Marrone couldn’t get it done and in a result-oriented business, that cost him his job.

This wasn’t a one-time deal either, Marrone led the ‘Jags’ to just one winning season, the one in which they had a 10-6 record and reached the AFC Championship. Meanwhile, they were 12-36 in his other three seasons at the helm.

Looking back, Marrone didn’t have the best roster during his tenure in Jacksonville and former general manager David Calwell squandered plenty of draft selections. Here are the most disappointing ones during Marrone’s tenure.
