The Jacksonville Jaguars already started looking for their next GM.

Ever since the Jacksonville Jaguars fired David Caldwel after their Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns, Trent Baalke has been the team’s general manager on an interim basis. While he may have a chance to land the job on a permanent basis, the ‘Jags’ have already started the process of interviewing candidates for the position.

The Jaguars reportedly interviewed Rick Smith and Louis Reddick not too long ago, and more recently, they took a look at Jerry Reese, former general manager of the New York Giants, according to Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

The team’s next general manager will have to make plenty of decisions as soon as he gets the job. If Doug Marrone hasn’t been given the pink slip by the time he takes over the job, he will need to decide whether he will want to keep the current general manager.

He will also need to decide want kind of route the ‘Jags’ will take toward roster building in 2021. Drafting Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick will probably be an easy decision, but that’s not the only one he will need to make.

This Jacksonville team will have ten more draft selections besides the first one and $77.61 million at its disposal, per Over the Cap. The Jaguars’ next general manager will have to choose how to employ those resources. Should Jerry Reese be the man they hire?
