Three Jacksonville Jaguars got recognition for their play by PFF.

The Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t been very good in 2020. Thus, it wasn’t surprising to hear none of their players were named to this year’s Pro Bowl. However, running back James Robinson, center Brandon Linder, and linebacker Myles Jack have been playing well at an individual level and were recognized by Pro Football Focus and made their Pro Bowl team.

Robinson might’ve been the biggest Pro Bowl omission this year, as he’s third in the league with 1,070 running yards and 1,414 scrimmage yards, the most by an undrafted rookie in NFL History. PFF points out the Illinois State standout only trails Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans and Delvin Cook of the Minnesota Vikings in rushing yards and yards after contact.

For his part, Linder was PFF’s top choice for center. They say that even though he’s missed five games, he’s surrounded just four pressures all year long. He’s the third-highest graded player and only Corey Linsley of the Green Bay Packers and Frank Ragnow of the Detroit Lions have a better grade than Linder’s 80.0 overall.

PFF credits Jack with 43 defensive stops, the same as Bobby Wagner of the Seattle Seahawks, who is their highest-graded linebacker. Jack has registered 105 total tackles, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one interception in 2020.

Why were these Jacksonville Jaguars not invited to the Pro Bowl?

PFF believes the methods to select players for the Pro Bowl are outdated and in need of an overhaul. They don’t mention what metrics are the ones that should be revamped, but there may be another reason why no Jaguars earned a Pro Bowl designation this season.

This Jacksonville team has lost 13 straight games. They have been blown out a few times this season and rank near the bottom of most meaningful categories. If the team were playing better, it’s likely at least James Robinson would’ve gotten a Pro Bowl nod.

The ‘Jags’ are going to go through a roster makeover in the offseason and should drastically improve in 2021. Once they start winning games and making noise, their players will get more recognition. In the meantime, three of them were recognized by PFF.
