Gardner Minshew is the starter once again for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have given Garder Minshew II the starting nod in Week 15 after struggling early in the season and missing time with a thumb injury. Even though the ‘Jags’ don’t have much to play for in the next three games, they should definitely use the time to assess the sophomore quarterback.

This Jacksonville team has 11 selections in 2021’s draft and it’s believed they will use their first-round choice, the second overall, on a quarterback prospect. If that’s the case, they will need to decide what to do with the quarterbacks they currently have on their roster.

Veteran Mike Glennon signed a one-year deal earlier this year, and his inconsistent play in Week 14 led to his benching so it’s likely the team will part ways with him in the offseason. Meanwhile, Jake Luton showed promise in his first start but was overwhelmed in the next two. The Oregon standout could turn into a competent backup down the road but is still raw.

Then, there’s Minshew. Although he displayed flashes of talent in 2019, he has fallen flat in 2020 and has failed to recreate last season’s magic. Nevertheless, he still has plenty of value and the Jaguars could be better off with him on their roster in 2021. Here are two reasons why.
