The Jacksonville Jaguars will need a new defensive coordinator soon.

The Jacksonville Jaguars recently parted ways with general manager David Caldwell due to his inability to field a competitive roster. Although the team has told head coach Doug Marrone that his job is safe for now, they will likely give him and his staff the pink slip at the end of the season.

Whoever the Jaguars hire to be their new head coach will bring in his people with him and won’t probably retain the current staff. If that’s the outcome, offensive coordinator Jay Gruden and defensive coordinator Todd Wash will not be part of the organization after the 2020 season ends.

The next Jaguars’ defensive coordinator will have his work cut short, as the defense is dead last in total yards and 28th in points allowed. Moreover, they rank 29th in sacks with 16.

Even though this Jacksonville team made some strides in recent weeks, they allowed 31 points in their Week 14 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. They had given up no more than 27 points in the five weeks before that, but injuries and the lack of talent caught up with them when they faced their division rivals.

Here are four coordinators the Jaguars’ next head coach will have to consider hiring if they want to turn their defense around.
