6 best Jacksonville Jaguars wide receivers during Caldwell era
The Jacksonville Jaguars added some good wideouts during the Caldwell era.
Former general manager David Caldwell failed to add talent to the Jacksonville Jaguars roster on a consistent basis. Thus, not many batted an eye when the team fired him after their Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
However, Caldwell had some hits and drafted some core players such as center Brandon Linder and linebacker Myles Jack. Although his overall track record in the draft was poor, he did find select some talented wide receivers in the Player Selection Meeting.
In fact, wide receiver was one of the positions Caldwell put an emphasis on during his tenure as Jacksonville’s general manager. All in all, he drafted nine wide receivers, and four of them are still with the team.
Also, Caldwell also signed Keelan Cole as an undrafted free agent in 2017, so even though he wasn’t good at evaluating other position groups, he was good at identifying wide receiver talent. This year alone, the Jaguars took Laviska Shenault Jr. and Collin Johnson in the draft and both have shown flashes of talent and an ability to make plays.
In fact, wide receiver is one of Jaguars’ most solid position groups heading into the offseason due to Caldwell’s work. Here are the best six wide receivers this Jacksonville team had during his tenure with the team.
