The Jacksonville Jaguars had some solid performances in Week 13.

The Jacksonville Jaguars fought hard in Week 13 and took the Minnesota Vikings to overtime. Although they ended up losing, there were some solid performances on both offense and defense, and Pro Football Focus’ latest grades confirm that assessment.

Tight end James O’Shaughnessy earned a PFF 90.3 overall grade against the ‘Vikes’, the best of any Jaguars offensive player. The veteran hauled in four catches for 41 yards on 33 offensive snaps. On the other hand, cornerback Herndon was their highest-graded defender with an 85.6 mark after making eight tackles and defending one pass.

O’Shaughnessy and Herndon weren’t the only players that received positive grades though. Although quarterback Mike Glennon didn’t play as well as he did against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12, he earned a serviceable 56.7 grade. He was able to spread the ball around and targeted five different Jaguars on offense six times each.

Meanwhile, rookie defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson registered five total pressures and earned a 54.2 PFF grade, his second-highest one this year while defensive tackle Doug Costin had one tackle, four assists, and one pass defensed, good for a 69.6 mark.

The Jacksonville Jaguars now need to win some games.

As good as these Jaguars players graded, the team ultimately lost their 11th consecutive game of the year. Linebacker Joe Schobert summed it up best when he told the local media in a sitdown after their 27-24 loss that there are no moral victories.

Schobert is right, the Jaguars’ individual production may look great on paper, but it doesn’t account for much if it doesn’t lead to victories. Keep in mind the linebacker had a solid game himself and returned an interception for a touchdown, but he knows it wasn’t enough to achieve the end-goal.

The Jaguars haven’t won many games and they are likely evaluating their current players ahead of the offseason. They will probably give the roster a makeover, but Week 13 showed there are some enticing building blocks on their roster.
