The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without five players in Week 13.

This has been a rough year for the Jacksonville Jaguars when it comes to injuries. Ahead of their Week 13 matchup, they have ruled out five players, cornerback Sidney Jones, defensive tackle Davon Hamilton, linebacker Dakota Allen, rookie tight end Ben Ellefson, and linebacker Kamalei Correa. Moreover, they have placed Hamilton and Ellefson on the Injury Reserve List.

This is the third consecutive Jones misses with an Achilles injury. He got hurt in Week 11 and it’s unclear when he will be able to take the field once again. He was having a solid season and had started five games for the ‘Jags’ before he suffered the injury.

Meanwhile, this is going to be the first game Hamilton misses after being carted off the field against the Browns last week. Although head coach Doug Marrone said after the game that the lesion didn’t look good, he later said it wasn’t as bad as the team originally expected. Nevertheless, he’s not going to dress up against the ‘Vikes’ for a while.

On the other hand, Correa’s and Allen’s absence may not impact the Jaguars’ defense as much as Jones’ and Hamilton’s. Correa, who arrived in Jacksonville via trade in the middle of the season, hasn’t played more than 46 percent of the team’s total snaps on defense in the last three weeks while Allen didn’t get any playing time on defense in the last two weeks.

It’s business as usual for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Injuries have ravaged the Jaguars’ defense in recent weeks. Not long ago, the team placed cornerback C.J. Henderson, defensive end Josh Allen, slot cornerback D.J. Hayden and safety Daniel Thomas on the reserve list. Defensive coach Todd Wash has to work with a patch-up defense and has had to rely on in rookies such as Luc Barcoo.

The Jaguars are running out of healthy players on defense, and it will see interesting to see if they can hold the fort against a Vikings offense that ranks 12th in points scored and eighth in passing touchdowns.
