4 wide receivers Jacksonville Jaguars can target early in 2021 draft
Terrance Marshall Jr. announced his decision to opt out of the reminder of the 2020 college season and declare for the 2021 NFL Draft not long ago. Analyst Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN ranked the LSU standout as the fourth-best wide receiver in his latest Big Board.
He only hauled in 12 receptions for 192 yards and no touchdowns in his freshman year. However, he would finish his sophomore campaing with 46 yards for 671 yards and 13 touchdowns. This year was no different and caught 48 passes for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns before in seven games with the Tigers.
Chris Olave’s number might not jump out of the stat sheet. In three seasons with the Buckeyes, the wide receiver has hauled in 86 receptions for 1,426 yards and 19 touchdowns, and the fact he has fumbled the ball two times in four games this season could also raise some red flags.
Nevertheless, Olave’ solid route-running and eplosiveness will surely get the attention of NFL scouts. He may lack the big-time production other prospects have, but the Ohio state wide receiver has the the prototypical skills of a number one wideout, which will prompt a team to take a chance on him late in the first round or early in the second. The Jaguars could be that squad.
