The Jacksonville Jaguars need help in their defensive line.

Although it’s essential to acknowledge the Jacksonville Jaguars defensive line is in need of talent, it’s even more important to look for a solution. At this point of the season, there isn’t much the team can do from a scheme and personnel standpoint, but it’s something they will be able to address in the offseason. Signing potential free-agent defensive end Melvin Ingram in 2021 should be one of many moves the organization should definitely consider.

It’s uncertain what kind of coaching changes there will be next year. Head coach Doug Marrone has been told his job is safe for the remainder of the year, but once the season is over, he will likely get the boot. The new coaching staff will bring its own philosophies and schemes, but they are definitely going to need to bring in more talented players if they want to improve the defensive line’s performance.

2021’s draft will offer plenty of enticing options, and the Jaguars will have ten selections at their disposal. If they use them correctly, they can turn things around rather quickly, and although the player’s selection process will be their principal means to bolster their front four and other areas, it won’t be the only one.

Besides holding a good amount of draft picks, the ‘Jags’ are set to have $83.99 million in cap space per Over The Cap and need to use free agency as a complementary tool to upgrade their roster.
