The Jacksonville Jaguars are ready to hit the reset button.

If you lose your job and others start cheering your dismissal, you might not have been very good at what you did, and that seems to be the reaction surrounding the firing of former Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell.

While we should not celebrate the fact Caldwell was relieved of his duties and we shouldn’t commend others for doing so, we can definitely look and what went wrong during his tenure with the team, which was a lot. Although the general manager no longer works for the ‘Jags’, he left a mark and it wasn’t a good one.

In his eight years at the helm, Caldwell failed to infuse the team with talent more often than not even though he had a top 5, first-round draft pick from 2013 to 2017. While it would be unrealistic to expect any front office executive to have a perfect track record, the general manager left the Jaguars roster bare.

Then again, Cadwell had some good picks, not enough to overcome the bad ones, but good ones nonetheless. He might’ve chosen the right players by mistake or he really did his homework and nailed the pick, but regardless of the reason, the former general manager chose some good players, and the point of this list is to highlight them, so let’s take a look at Caldwell’s best draft choices during his time in Jacksonville.
