Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Collin Johnson shined in Week 12.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been consistent at being bad in 2020. They have now lost ten straight games and have fired general manager David Caldwell, who has played a part in the team’s lack of success in the last few seasons.

However, not everything is doom and gloom for this Jacksonville team as they got some superb individual performances from their 2020 rookie class. On one hand, running back James Robinson continued to make his case for the Offensive Rookie of the Year, but first-year wideout Collin Johnson also stood out and was the team’s leading receiver against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12.

Johnson finished the game with four receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown. Although he didn’t start the game, he played on 52 offensive snaps, which accounted for 80 percent of the team’s total in Week 12.

Moreover, Johnson earned a 79.9 Pro Football Focus overall grade, the best one he’s had in 2020. In his rookie season, the former Longhorns wide receiver has hauled in 11 receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Before Sunday, he hadn’t been targeted more than four times per game, but against the Browns, he saw eight his way.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have gotten solid production from their wideouts.

The Jaguars currently have a solid wide receiver corps. Although none of their wideouts are All-Pros, they have stepped up when the team has needed them. Laviska Shenault Jr. displayed glimpses of playmaking prowess before a couple of games with a hamstring injury.

D.J. Chark hasn’t been as dominant as he was in 2019, but he still has been a solid contributor. The same can be said about Keelan Cole, who scored two touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers in Week 10. Collin Johnson was the latest Jaguars wide receiver to take over a game.

Changes are coming to the Jaguars in the offseason, but they have some intriguing talent at wide receiver. The team brass could decide to add more players to the group, but they shouldn’t forget about the ones they currently have on the roster.
