Jacksonville Jaguars: Studs and duds in 25-17 loss vs Browns
These three players held the Jacksonville Jaguars back in Week 12.
Sure, the Jaguars’ offense was able to move the ball better and score more with Mike Glennon at the helm. The veteran quarterback finished the game with two touchdowns and didn’t turn the ball over.
On the other hand, the Jaguars attempted two two-point conversions and failed to complete both. In each case, Glennon threw an incomplete pass. Had the veteran completed either one, we could be talking about a Jaguars win. Instead, we are talking about how he fell short in spite of playing well for most of the game.
Rookie K’Lavon Chaisson keeps getting lost on the depth chart. Even though defensive end Josh Allen is on the Injured Reserve list, 2020’s 20th overall pick can’t get on the field. If the LSU product showed signs of growth, the coaching staff wouldn’t doubt to give him more playing time.
Instead, Chaisson played a complementary role while Adam Gotsis started opposite Dawuane Scott. The rookie’s inability to contribute should be a cause of concern for the Jaguars moving forward.
It was inspiring to see Luc Barcoo make his first career start after going undrafted in 2020’s draft. The San Diego State standout ended up playing 65 snaps on defense, which accounted for 97 percent of the team’s total against the Browns.
However, Barcoo only saw the field after injuries hampered the Jaguars cornerback room. Against the Browns, he got beaten by wide receiver Jarvis Landry for a five-yard touchdown reception.
