The 2021 NFL Draft will provide the Jacksonville Jaguars help on offense.

It’s not outlandish to say the Jacksonville Jaguars currently have a subpar offense. In fact, it would be a bad thing not to acknowledge it. They are in need of a franchise quarterback, and their offensive line and their wide receiver corps could and should get some upgrades.

In the Jaguars’ favor, they are set to have $83.99 million in cap space and four selections in the first two rounds of the players’ selection process in 2021. While they can use their surplus of money on a few high-impact defenders, they could use those four draft picks to turn their offense into an efficient unit.

What do experts believe the Jacksonville Jaguars should do in the draft?

Chris Trapasso of CBS believes this Jacksonville team is going to choose two offensive players in 2021’s draft. He wrote in his latest mock that the ‘Jags’ are going to select quarterback Justin Fields with the second overall pick and offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood with their second first-round pick, the one they obtained from the Los Angeles Rams last season in exchange for cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Drafting Fields makes sense as the team doesn’t have a long-term answer at the quarterback position. Even if their pick were another quarterback, such as Zach Wilson or Kyle Trask, the Jaguars need to find a franchise signal-caller, something they haven’t had in many seasons.

On the other hand, selecting Leatherwood would take care of two things. First, the Alabama upgrade would provide a boost to Jacksonville’s offensive line, but more importantly, they wouldn’t have to overpay Cam Robinson.

The Jaguars left tackle is in the last year of his rookie contract and is set to become a free agent after this season and while he’s a good player, he’s not worth top market compensation. Letting Robinson become a free agent and allocate the money they would pay him to other areas would be a sound decision.

Justin Fields and Alex Leatherwood would immediately upgrade key positions on the Jaguars roster, the organization would still have plenty of selections left to address other teams needs. On paper, the picks look solid, or what do you think?
