Jacksonville Jaguars must contain these 4 Browns offensive players
The patched-up Jacksonville Jaguars defense must hold the fort.
Defensive coordinator Todd Wash wasn’t lying when he recently the Jacksonville Jaguars defense was making progress. In the last three weeks, the unit has allowed 27 points or less after allowing 30 or more for six consecutive weeks.
Although three points don’t seem like much of a difference, keep in mind the Jaguars’ defense is devoid of playmakers. They signed linebacker Joe Schobert in the offseason, but he was their only meaningful defensive acquisition the team made in free agency. Instead, the team’s brass relied on the players’ selection process as a means to address their roster needs on defense.
While rookies cornerback C.J. Henderson and safety Daniel Thomas were showing signs of growth, the team placed them on the Injury Reserve list along with defensive end Josh Allen, so it isn’t just its lack of talent what’s holding back the defense but injuries as well.
In the end, the Jaguars still need to prepare to take on a formidable Cleveland Browns offense in Week 12. Although they rank 18 in points scored, they have plenty of talent on the offensive side of the ball.
Cleveland’s biggest threat on offense, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, is out of the year with a torn ACL in his knee, but they still have enough offensive firepower to score enough points to win football games. Thus, the Jaguars defense needs to keep an eye on these four Browns offensive players.
