The Jacksonville Jaguars will be short-handed against the Steelers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without a couple of offensive players when they play the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. and tight end James O’Shaughnessy have been ruled out for Sunday’s contest.

Meanwhile, Meanwhile, Rookie wide receiver Collin Johnson is listed as questionable and so is cornerback Sidney Jones who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Quarterback Garnder Minshew II received the questionable designation too, but it’s unlikely he will dress up in Week 11.

Head coach Doug Marrone said in a recent sitdown with the local media that Minshew is making prowess, but he isn’t 100 percent yet. He added that the sophomore quarterback is throwing a little bit and is trending up, but not to the point where he’s will see action on the field.

The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver corps will miss Shenault.

The Jaguars could be fine if Collin Johnson doesn’t play. The rookie has hauled in seven reception for 69 yards and has played in just 19.53 percent of the team’s total snaps on offense in 2020. On the other hand, not having Laviska Shenault will have an effect on their wide receiver corps.

D.J. Chark and Keelan Cole have been solid, but the Steelers secondary will have a favorable matchup and Shenault would have helped make things a little bit even. Chris Conley will likely see plenty of playing time in the Colorado standout’s place.

Sidney Jones’ absence could be a big blow to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It’s not a sure thing Sidney Jones will miss the game, but if he does, the Jaguars’ secondary would be without their two starting cornerbacks, as the team just placed C.J. Henderson on the Injured Reserve list with a groin injury.

Before Jones got the starting job, Tre Herndon held it. He will be back in the lineup in Week 11 and if Jones misses the Steelers game, we could see D.J. Hayden, whom the team recently activated from Injured Reserve, start opposite of Herndon. Then again, Hayden is better suited for the slot cornerback position.

The Jaguars could also give playing time to Chris Claybrooks or even rookie Josiah Scott. However, none of those options would be an upgrade over Jones, that’s why it’s key for the former Philadelphia Eagles to dress up Sunday.
