Jacksonville Jaguars vs Green Bay Packers: 3 bold predictions
The Jacksonville Jaguars are facing an uphill battle in Week 10.
Based on their 1-7 record, it’s difficult to see the Jacksonville Jaguars coming out of Lambeau Field with a win. The Green Bay Packers are one of the best teams in the NFC and have one of the best offenses in the NFL.
That doesn’t mean this won’t be a fun game or that the ‘Jags’ are going to wave the white flag right out of the game. It’s just that this Jacksonville team will have a hard time pulling an upset, as they have a few talented players but not enough to trade shots with the Packers.
Their Jaguars defense has had a hard time stopping opposing defenses and has allowed 30 points in six of eight games this year. Meanwhile, the Packers offense is scoring 31 points per game.
If ‘Jags’ wants to stay in the game, they will have to keep up with the Packers on offense. Rookie Jake Luton will have to play well in his second start, wide receiver D.J. Chark will have to play at a high level, and running back James Robinson will have to move the chains at key moments.
Some Jacksonville Jaguars will shine at Lambeau Field.
A win in Green Bay will be unlikely, but here are three things that we think will happen in Week 10.
1. Jake Luton will score three touchdowns and keep the Jaguars in the game.
Quarterback Jake Luton played surprisingly well in his NFL debut. He was 26-of-38 for 304 yards, one touchdown, one rushing touchdown, and one interception. He also displayed his arm strength and took some shots downfield.
Luton will continue performing well and will throw three touchdown passes against the Packers. The fact there won’t be fans in the stands will make it easier for the Oregon standout to thrive at Lambeau Field.
2. Josh Allen will have a couple of sacks.
Edge defender Josh Allen hasn’t been as dominant as he was in his rookie year. One big reason for that is a knee injury he sustained earlier in the season and made him miss two games. The sophomore returned in Week 7 but hasn’t had much impact the last two weeks.
This Sunday, things should be different and Allen will return to form. He will play the way he did in 2019 and register a couple of sacks.
3. DJ Chark will have his second consecutive 100-yard game and one touchdown.
Wide receiver Laviska Shenault will be out in Week10. Wide receiver D.J. Chark will see plenty of double teams, but that doesn’t mean he won’t thrive against the Packers. Last week, he was the focal point of the Jaguars passing game and ended the game with seven receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown.
Chark will have no trouble crossing the 100-yard mark again. Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was listed as doubtful in the team’s latest injury report, so he might not dress up. That could make Chark’s job easier and help him have a solid performance.
