The Jacksonville Jaguars had choices with this year’s ninth overall pick.

We don’t blame you if you don’t trust Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell to make any meaningful decisions regarding the team. After all, fans of the franchise have seen him squander draft selections year in and year out. His draft record becomes even worse when we look at all the players he has selected in the first round since he began to oversee the personnel department in 2013.

None of the players Caldwell selected from 2013 to 2017 play in Jacksonville anymore and the team’s 2018 first-round pick, defensive tackle Taven Bryan, hasn’t turned into the playmaker the Jaguars expected him to become when they chose him.

This year, this Jacksonville team chose cornerback C.J. Henderson with the ninth overall pick and K’Lavon Chaisson with the 20th overall. Neither of them would be consider a difference-maker at this point of their respective careers, and it should make fans wonder whether Caldwell made the right decision when he drafted Henderson and Chaison.

It’s too early to say if this pair of first-year players is going to develop into an All-Pro player but the Jaguars have surely seen enought to be either excited or disappointed with their progress. Looking at how other rookies have played, it would be a good idea to see whom the Jaguars passed up to select Henderson. Here are three of those players.
