The Jacksonville Jaguars need to find a quarterback for the 2021 season.

It’s never too early to start talking about next year’s free agency. While teams have to prepare for upcoming games, they also have to start planning ahead for next year’s offseason and the Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t any different.

The Jaguars may go into the offseason looking to add a veteran quarterback and there are many reasons why. Even though Gardner Minshew is on the roster, he hasn’t given any indications he can take over the franchise and become an elite quarterback. He’s currently out with an injury and may not even get his job back once he’s healthy.

On the other hand, the ‘Jags’ are about to find out what they have in rookie quarterback Jake Luton. Despite the fact he had a 28-3 TD-to-Int ratio at Oregon State, nobody knows how he’s going to perform on the NFL field. If he plays well, the team could use him as a bargaining chip in the offseason, and if he struggles, the team can part ways with him without any repercussions.

Heading into 2021’s offseason, this Jacksonville team doesn’t have a clear answer at the quarterback position, but it does have plenty of options and routes they can take if they want to become a perennial contender. Since it’s likely the Jaguars will pick high in the 2021 NFL Draft, they may go with a young quarterback prospect.

If that’s the case, the Jaguars can rely on a veteran mentor while they wait for their rookie prospect to be ready. Even if the team’s brass doesn’t go with a young quarterback, they surely want to upgrade the quarterback position. In either scenario, they must pursue these four quarterbacks who are set to be free agents in 2021’s offseason.
