The Jacksonville Jaguars will get reinforcements ahead of their Week 9 matchup.

After resting in Week 8, the Jacksonville Jaguars will take on a Houston Texans team that is coming off its Bye Week as well. Both teams have identical 1-6 records and the two of them come with their own flaws.

The Texans defense ranks 30th in points allowed after giving up 217. They aren’t faring much better when it comes to total yards, as they have allowed 2,923, good for 30th in the league. Moreover, the unit is dead last in interceptions with one. There are 31 teams in the league that have at least two interceptions in 2020 and the Texans aren’t one of them.

The Jaguars have hauled in six interceptions, but their defense ranks one spot lower in points allowed with 220. Also, the Texans offense ranks 15th in points scored while the Jaguars are 24th. That will be an interesting matchup to watch as the Jaguars have allowed at least 30 points in every game this season but one.

This will be the second time in 2020 that the Jaguars and the Texans play against each other. In their first matchup, the Texans beat the Jaguars 30-14. Fortunately for the ‘Jags’, they will be getting reinforcements back on defense.

The Jacksonville Jaguars defense gets a couple of key players back in time.

In a recent sitdown with the press, Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone gave an update on three players that have been dealing with injuries and missed the game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Those players are linebacker Myles Jack, safety Jarrod Wilson and tight end Tyler Eifert.

While Eifert hasn’t had the impact the Jags thought he would have when he signed with the team, he should give an element of speed to the offense. Meanwhile, the defense will get a couple of starters back.

Wilson has been dealing with a hamstring all season long and Jack has been nursing an ankle injury. A defense that hasn’t been able to stop opposing defenses will gladly welcome the two of them back for their Week 9 matchup.
