The Jacksonville Jaguars are in need desperate of a franchise tight end.

The Jaguars currently have four tight ends on their roster: Tyler Eifert, James O’Shaughnessy, Tyler Davis, and Ben Ellefson. None of them have made an impact on the year and Eifert continues to struggle with injuries that have plagued his career.

The Seattle Seahawks are rumored to be shopping TE Jacob Hollister in order to clear some cap space and the Jaguars should be one of the first teams inquiring about the young playmaker.

Hollister could be what the Jaguars need on offense…

Hollister was an undrafted free agent out of Wyoming who signed with the New England Patriots after the 2017 NFL Draft. Prior to the 2019 NFL season, Hollister was traded to the Seahawks in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick and was even waived before being signed to the practice squad. After being elevated to the active roster, Hollister had an immediate impact as a role player on the offense. He finished the year with 41 receptions, 349 yards, three touchdowns, and a 69.5% catch percentage.

At the end of the 2019 season, the Seahawks realized the potential in Jacob Hollister and that he was too valuable to let go so they ended up placing a second-round restricted free agent tender on him.

But this year the Seahawks have a fairly crowded tight end room and Hollister hasn’t been as prominent for them as he was the year before. They need the cap space and they already have a promising young player in Will Dissly, so why not trade Hollister now in exchange for draft compensation?

While the Jaguars offense has good playmakers at wide receiver, targeting Hollister could really boost their offensive production. Considering how much they’ve been struggling this season, it wouldn’t hurt to try a scheme change and get Hollister involved on crucial downs and in the redzone.

The NFL trade deadline is November 3rd, so the Jaguars need to make a pounce now before it becomes too late.
