Jacksonville Jaguars: Way Too Early 2021 Mock Draft
Round 5, Pick 1 (129th Overall) – Jeremy Ruckert, Tight End, Ohio State
Jeremy Ruckert could be primed for a big year if he’s actually used properly and given the chance to perform and show was he can do. Because of the sheer dominance that Ohio State has had at the receiver position, Ruckert isn’t even one of the top targets. Will he be the country’s most productive prospect at the position? Maybe… but if he isn’t, it’s only because he was underutilized.
Round 6, Pick 1 (161st Overall) – Jermaine Johnson, Linebacker, Georgia
The former “Last Chance U” star and top JUCO prospect would be a nice developmental pick for Caldwell and company on the third and final day of the draft. Jermain Johnson’s size, speed and athleticism should catch the eye of most scouts and he’s personally one of my favorites to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
Round 7, Pick 1 (193rd Overall) – Baron Browning, Linebacker, Ohio State
Baron Browning is a physical specimen with all the measurables you want in a top-rated linebacker prospect; it’s his inconsistency that hinders him from going much higher in the draft. He’s a productive and effective blitzer, but he struggles to read and react; a true ‘bull in a china shop’.
If he can learn to make good players when isn’t just running on the fly and can read opposing sides, he’ll shoot up draft boards.
Which draft pick would excite you the most right now?
