Could these former Jaguars players come back to the NFL, strap on the helmet again, and help this team step out of the AFC South basement?

We got this idea from our friends at The Viking Age here on FanSided.com. The Jacksonville Jaguars have had some players over the course of the past 26 years who impacted this franchise so much that fans still talk about their greatness.

Some could have thrived in today’s NFL. And while the Jaguars are now rebuilding (once again) and looking to lay down a foundation of winning and a new cultural identity, those players of the past may have thrived the way football is played today.

This piece looks at who could come out of retirement and perform as if they had never left the game.

The Jaguars just completed a successful NFL Draft, added free agents who fill holes on both sides of the ball, and could surprise some of the local and national media with a breakthrough season.

Still, this is a team that may not win more than six games in 2020. If they do, it could be the best story told in the NFL this season.

There are still concerns on the offensive line, at tight end and in the secondary. The Jaguars’ front office, led by general manager David Caldwell should be scouring the free agent wire looking for more pieces to finish off this puzzle.

If Caldwell and his staff cannot find the right players to add to the roster, then these former Jacksonville Jaguars stars could come in and show the younger generation how the game was once played.
