Ben Bartch vs. Andrew Norwell

Andrew Norwell just agreed to restructure his 2020 salary and still has the inside track to be the Jaguars starting left guard this season. But he must play better this coming season.

Norwell signed a $6.5M deal in 2018 after an All-Pro season in Carolina. He has done nothing to show he was worth the $30M in guaranteed money the Jaguars have paid him. I personally thought he might become a salary-cap casualty this offseason, but the front office made it work in terms of dollars and sense.

Both Norwell and left tackle Cam Robinson are under a microscope in 2020.

Ben Bartch was surprisingly the Jacksonville Jaguars only offensive line draft pick, but he brings superior size and tenacity to a team that could use more depth. The battle in camp between these two may not be about Bartch starting the first week of the season, but more about whether Norwell can find more consistency from the opening bell.

Norwell will start the season at left guard, but I fully expect Bartch to be the starter by midseason.
