What Would a Defense Only Draft Look Like for The Jacksonville Jaguars?
Can the Jacksonville Jaguars find just as much success with an all defensive draft as it did with one for the offensive side of the ball?
After yesterday’s Offensive Overload Mock Draft I am back today with a defensive only mock draft. Shoutout to those that have reached out with kind words and support, I am very excited to continue to contribute on this platform as I get to interact with more and more of Duuuuuuval. A defense only draft would surely set up the Jacksonville Jaguars to be in a great position for two reasons:
1.) They would be able to hopefully return to having at least one side of the ball be functional and that should give us something to be hopeful about (I can dream right?).
2.) One way or another it appears the Jacksonville Jaguars will be led by a young quarterback for the next two seasons. Being able to go into a situation without the pressure to put up 30 points a game to be competitive would ensure the actual development of a franchise signal-caller.
The defensive side of this year’s class is not nearly as deep across the board as we see with some of the position groups on the offensive side. There will definitely be gems to find.
Not to spoil what lies ahead but keep an eye out for Rounds 4-5, which is where the Jaguars have five picks and should be ready to pounce on players ready to contribute Day 1 in some way, shape, or form.
I used The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Simulator to gather this stockpile of defenders. Enjoy.
Could this be the start of a return to form for the Jacksonville Jaguar fans lovingly looking back at the 2017 AFC Title Game team? Or is more disappointment ahead?
