There are plenty of interior defensive line prospects the Jacksonville Jaguars could choose from in the NFL Draft this coming weekend.

The Jacksonville Jaguars may not be able to draft Derrick Brown or Javon Kinlaw in the first round.  However, there are three interior defensive linemen who can help the team immediately.

The Jaguars may turn to offense in the first round of the NFL Draft. They will still need a defensive lineman or two, and there are some great Day 2 candidates available. Each player has a question that needs to be answered but all are solid contenders who did well at the Combine.

Ross Blacklock from TCU is 6’ 3” and 290 pounds. He ran a 4.9  40 yard dash.  He was selected All-Big Twelve in 2019 with 40 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Due to his skill set, he is a better pass blocker than run blocker at this time.

His solid performance at the Combine earned him a 6.39 grade. This translates to a starter within two seasons. He is slated to be drafted somewhere between round 1-3.  The concerns are his injury history and the question is he a one year wonder?

Justin Madubuike is from Texas A&M. He is 6’ 3” and weighs 293 pounds. He ran a 4.83 40 yard dash and his 6.34 grade indicates an NFL starter within two years.

Madubuike was selected as the Defensive MVP as a sophomore and continued his excellent play as a junior. In 2019 Madubuike had 45 total tackles including 11.5 tackles for a loss.  In addition, he had 5.5 sacks, one pass interception, and one blocked kick.

All of this was as a player in the SEC.  He is projected to go in rounds 1 or 2 of the Draft. His strength is quickness and he has the talent to be a first-round choice. The question dogging him is that he is undersized for the position.

Neville Gallimore is an Oklahoma Sooner. He is 6’ 2” and weighs 304 pounds. He ran a 4.79  40 yard dash. His 6.0 Combine grade indicates a developmental prospect. During his 2019 season, he had 30 tackles, four sacks, and two forced fumbles.

He was selected 3rd team Associated Press All American and  2nd team All-Big Twelve.  He is a projected 2-3 round draft pick. He is considered a hard worker and has a large upside. He needs to develop as a pass rusher but is good against the run.

Blacklock, Madubuike, and Gallimore along with Brown and Kinlaw are an impressive group of defensive tackles.  They have all the physical attributes to be successful in the NFL. In fact, if I were the General Manager, I might take two of them!  Two of these linemen plus Taven Bryan (living up to his potential), Rodney Gunter (playing solid football) and Abry Jones (as a perfect substitute) could give the Jacksonville Jaguars one of the better groups of defensive tackles in the NFL.
