Jacksonville Jaguars: Already looking ahead to the NFL Draft
By David Levin
Defensive Tackle – The interior defensive line really needs help. The drop off in run defense has been evident since the injury to Marcell Dareus. The veteran’s core injury may be the single most devastating injury to the roster this season.
He will not be back next season because of his cap hit. Abry Jones has not been as productive in years past and Taven Bryan is still an enigma of sorts. I am suspicious why the team has not reached out to Datone Jones to come back after being released after the preseason. He might have been a force inside.
Calais Campbell has moved inside most of the season because of the addition of Josh Allen to the pass rush and has played well, but not enough to enforce his will on opposing rushers. You could see the entire middle of this unit undergo a major makeover next season and for good reason.
Javon Kinlaw or South Carolina and Derrick Brown of Auburn figure to be available when the Jaguars use their first pick. I am partial to Brown because I think he will be a better pro.
