The Jacksonville Jaguars listed Gardner Minshew on their injury report on Wednesday. Minshew suffered a knee injury in the final minutes of the game on Sunday.

The one name the Jacksonville Jaguars did not want to see on their injury report on Wednesday was quarterback Gardner Minshew, who was hit in the knee in the final moments of the 26-24 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon.

Minshew was limited on the practice field. The only other quarterback on the active roster is Josh Dobbs, who was acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a fifth-round draft pick in 2020. When head coach Doug Marrone met with the media on Wednesday, he said the team would use caution with their rookie and Dobbs would see time with the first string as well.

"“I think you’ve always got to be careful,” Marrone said. “And I think that’s probably the best way. I think we’ve just got to do a good job and be careful. He’ll be limited today. Anytime someone shows up on the injury report I think you just have to be mindful of it.More from Jacksonville Jaguars News3 potential trade partners for Jacksonville Jaguars CB Shaquill GriffinJaguars should explore trading for Michael Thomas amid Calvin Ridley suspensionJacksonville Jaguars named best fit for CB James Bradberry in 2023 NFL free agencyJacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram highlights discrepancy in WR and TE salariesJacksonville Jaguars land DeAndre Hopkins in trade proposal to stop the KC Chiefs“I don’t think he can just come out here and just go, ‘Hey, everything’s fine. Everything’s great.’ I just think we have to be careful leading up to the game.”"

It was Minshew who was called upon just 10 plays into the Jaguars season when quarterback Nick Foles went down with a broken collarbone. Since then, “Minshew Mania” has run wild in Jacksonville and has taken on a life of its own in the NFL.

Sorry for the WWF feel to that last paragraph. I couldn’t help myself.

Minshew was instrumental, along with the running of Leonard Fournette, in the second half of the game on Sunday. The rookie tossed two passes for touchdowns while Fournette racked up 225 yards rushing on the afternoon.

"Per ESPN.com, “Minshew was hurt on the first play of the Jaguars’ game-winning drive when he was hit low by linebacker Todd Davis. He got up limping but stayed in the game and led the Jaguars to the Denver 15-yard line to set up Josh Lambo’s game-winning 33-yard field goal.”"

The Jaguars have won two straight games after dropping their first two of the season and are tied in the AFC South with the three other teams in the division at 2-2.

Marrone also announced that cornerback Jalen Ramsey was still dealing with a back injury that kept him out of the game Sunday. It was the first time Ramsey, who has asked to be traded from the organization, has missed a game in his NFL career.

Ramsey’s injury is being listed as a “day-by-day” type of thing, Marrone said.
