Per sources, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Gary Kubiak will meet on Tuesday to discuss the team’s open offensive coordinator position.

The carousel of coaching interviews continue as the Jacksonville Jaguars will meet with former Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak to discuss him becoming the team’s new offensive coordinator.

Per Ian Rapoport, who made the announcement on his Twitter account, a meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday after the Jaguars spoke to both Darrell Bevell and Todd Monken last week about replacing Nathaniel Hackett, who was fired by Doug Marrone during the season for a lack of offensive execution.

Over the weekend, it was reported that Monken will assume the same role with the Cleveland Browns and join newly hired head coach Freddie Kitchens’ staff.

The Denver Broncos hired Vic Fangio last week to replace Vance Joseph as head coach. It was believed Kubiak may be asked to run the offense for the new coaching staff, but a difference in opinion over how the Broncos offense would look may have led this interview on Tuesday.

Kubiak served as the Broncos offensive coordinator & quarterbacks coach from 1995–2005
before becoming the head coach of the Houston Texans from 2006-2013. He also served as the Broncos head coach from Head coach 2016-2016.

The Jaguars are in need of an offensive mind that can help the lifeless offense from 2018. Jacksonville averages 15.6 points a game, which ranked 31st in the NFL. The passing game was lethargic most of the season and the running game was hurt by injuries to both Leonard Fournette and Corey Grant.

Both Grant and running back T.J. Yeldon figure to leave via free agency this offseason.

"As Nick Shook of NFL.com wrote, “The Jaguars’ offense fell flat during the 2018 season, due in part to injuries and Leonard Fournette’s general unavailability, and spent time alternating between quarterbacks Blake Bortles and Cody Kessler.More from Jacksonville Jaguars News3 potential trade partners for Jacksonville Jaguars CB Shaquill GriffinJaguars should explore trading for Michael Thomas amid Calvin Ridley suspensionJacksonville Jaguars named best fit for CB James Bradberry in 2023 NFL free agencyJacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram highlights discrepancy in WR and TE salariesJacksonville Jaguars land DeAndre Hopkins in trade proposal to stop the KC Chiefs“Hackett became the scapegoat for a quarterback who couldn’t hang onto the football and team that crumbled beneath the pressure of its own achievement in the previous season.”"

It is not known if there are other candidates the Jaguars are looking to interview or have already considered. Over the weekend, it was announced by several sourcest he team would bring in George Warhop to replace Pat Flaherty as the offensive line coach and Tim Walton, who places Perry Fewell as defensive backs coach.
