Marking the 4th representative of the Jacksonville Jaguars to make the list, cornerback A.J. Bouye made his appearance on the NFL Top 100 at #35 in 2018.

Yannick Ngakoue, Telvin Smith, Leonard Fournette.

And now A.J. Bouye.

For the first time in a long while, the Jaguars have a handful of superstars they can hang their hat on.

Bouye represents half of what is inarguably the best cornerback duo in the NFL (sorry Rams fans) so it isn’t shocking to see him ranked so highly on this years NFL Top 100.

The Houston Texans had a tough decision last offseason and it’s hard not to think they must really regret letting A.J. Bouye walk in free agency. It’s doubly painful because he’s now an All-Pro on a division rival as he enters the prime of his career.

Somewhat overshadowed by his counterpart Jalen Ramsey, Bouye quietly put together one of the best season for a defensive back in franchise history in 2017. Bouye had 6 interceptions last season and he was a Pro Football Focus darling, posting a historically good passer rating against.

"Passer Rating when Targeted: 26.0This past offseason, Bouye signed a lucrative deal with Jacksonville after a breakout season in Houston. He’s been worth every penny to this point as he ranks tied for fourth in coverage grade (90.9) among cornerbacks, which includes a cornerback-leading six interceptions. Bouye also has yet to allow a touchdown despite playing the most coverage snaps of any CB on this list (493)."

Bouye didn’t allow a touchdown during the entire regular season, and he would’ve put up a clean sheet in the playoffs as well if not for some comically acrobatic catches by Antonio Brown in the divisional round.

Bouye will likely always be fighting for the praise he deserves, if only because Ramsey will command all of the attention. If he continues playing the way he did in 2017 however, Bouye will continue accumulating awards and accolades.
