The NFL scouting combine is in full swing, as day one of drills is in the books.

The on-field workouts for the 2018 scouting combine have begun, as draft hopefuls hit the field in Indianapolis.

Friday, day one of the drills, belonged to the running backs, offensive line, and special teams. With the first day completed, let’s take a look at potential Jacksonville Jaguars prospects, and how they performed in the spotlight.

Offensive Line

G Will Hernandez

6’2″ 348 lbs.

40-yard dash: 5.15 seconds

Bench press: 37 reps

Vert jump: 24.0 inches

Broad jump: 104.0 inches

Note: Hernandez is a mountain of a man, and only helped his already strong draft profile in Indy. 37 reps on the bench press was good enough for the top number overall. The guard was slated by many to be a first-round pick before the combine, and has all but certainly cemented that status now with his performance. If Hernandez is there for the Jaguars at pick 29, it would be very difficult to pass up the opportunity to bring in the hoss to create holes for last year’s first round pick Leonard Fournette.

G Billy Price

6’4″ 305 lbs.

Note: Really tough break for Billy Price, as the guard suffered a partial torn pectoral muscle while on the bench press. Price is expected to be fully rehabbed by training camp, but missing out on combine workouts put a dent in his potential of going in round one. Price was another guard that Jacksonville could have their eyes on in the first round.

Running Backs

Nyheim Hines

5’8″ 197 lbs.

40-yard dash: 4.38

Vertical jump: 35.5 inches

Broad jump: 119.0 inches

Note: The Jaguars should start to look to find a running back around the fourth round at the earliest. There’s a strong possibility that Hines could already be off the board by then, but would be a worthwhile addition to the backfield with Fournette. The 4.38 forty-time was the best of the running back group.

Mark Walton

5’10” 188 lbs.

40-yard dash: 4.6

Bench press: 18 reps

Vertical jump: 31.5 inches

Broad jump: 118.0 inches

Note: Also a guy that may be gone sooner, but another intriguing mid-round prospect to keep an eye on as a rotational player.

John Kelly

5’9″ 205 lbs.

Bench press: 15 reps

Vertical jump: 35.0 inches

Broad jump: 120.0 inches

Note: Looking to the later rounds, Kelly could be a guy to groom into a sufficient reserve role in the running back stable in Jacksonville. Saw the potential first-hand as Kelly had a massive day last season against the Florida Gators.

Justin Jackson

6’0″ 193 lbs.

40-yard dash: 4.52

Bench press: 13 reps

Vertical jump: 38.5 inches

Broad jump: 122.0 inches

Note: Jackson is a prospect that is really starting to stand out. That forty-time, and both vertical and broad jumps rank among the elite the running back crop has to offer this season. Jackson is looking more and more like a diamond in the rough, and could be a late-round steal for the Jaguars.
